Welcome to St. Thomas' Parish!
St. Thomas’ Parish Mission:
Encountering God, Strengthening Community, and Reflecting the Love of Christ into the World
Lent 2012
St. Thomas' Parish welcomes Lent with a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper,
Tuesday, February 21st, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Parish Hall in Croom. Come
celebrate Mardi Gras in the traditional Anglican way!
Ash Wednesday services are Wednesday, February 22nd, at 12 pm at the Chapel of
the Incarnation, Brandywine, and 7:30 pm at St. Thomas' Church, Croom.
Lent is a time to reflect on your life, to reconnect with God, and to repent of how
you have damaged your relationships with God and with others. During this
season, St. Thomas' is joining with other churches in the Episcopal Diocese of
Washington in reading Brian McLaren's book, Finding Our Way Again.
At St. Thomas', we're offering two different ways you can participate in this
Diocese-wide discussion:
Thursday Night Soup & Study:
All sessions include soup and bread supper, discussion and worship.
We begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm.
Here in Upper Marlboro, the three Episcopal Churches are taking turns hosting:
Adult Sunday School:
If you can't make Thursday night sessions to discuss the book,
Dr. Sharon Voros will lead sessions between the two services in Croom
on the following Sundays:
9:30 am on Feb. 26th, March 18th, March 26th, & April 1st
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way
is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16
Is YOUR faith a set of beliefs or a way of life?
Come and explore!
