Community Support System

CSS was founded by St. Thomas Parish members, and community friends, and is housed at our Chapel of the Incarnation in Brandywine, MD. Its mission is to help low and moderate-income families, the unemployed, the disabled, and senior citizens, access services; to be an advocate for those services; and to provide local programs that raise the quality of life, dignity, and independence in the community. CSS and its supporters also host a foodbank in Baden, MD. CSS serves people in the southern Prince George’s and northern Charles County community.

CSS offers the following programs

​

  • CSS Food Pantry Program:

Offering weekly distribution of food & emergency food supplies.​

 

  • Shared Senior Living Home Comfortable:

low-cost housing in Brandywine For seniors who function independently in the areas of personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, & eating. Rent assessed on a sliding scale according to income.

 

  • Advocacy:

Resources, information, assistance, & referral for federal, state, and local social services. Help to apply for benefits like SNAP, Maryland Energy Assistance, Renter’s Tax Rebate, & the like.

 

  • Assistance Fund:

Limited financial assistance for critical needs. For rent, mortgage, utilities, medical needs, transportation
